July was full of lots of fun trips for our family. We started off the month with our annual fourth of July trip to Neola to celebrate with Grandma LaJean and Papa Paul. The girls absolutely love spending time in Neola, especially during the summer when they can play out side and enjoy all of the wide open spaces.
Wayne and I started the morning off bright and early running in the half marathon. He was such a sport to run it with me last minute. He didn't even train and did great, it was fun to run with him. Hopefully I can talk him into doing it again sometime.
Next up was the parade. Usually Grandma puts together a float for all of us to ride on and throw candy but this year we got to sit in the crowd. The girls loved being on the other end of the candy throwing and gathered quite the collection of treats.
This girl loves her sweets, just like her mama, and grandma and great grandma :)
After the parade we all went to watch the patriotic program. This is one of my favorite parts of the holiday. I love that it makes us all stop and remember all who sacrificed and continue to fight for our freedom. Later in the evening we enjoyed the rodeo and then drove to our cousins house to watch the fireworks. It was a great day as always. I love Jaymi's fourth of July shirt, it looks just like she did as we entered the Salt Lake airport over a year ago, a precious little girl waving an American flag. She was home and free.
Saturday morning Jaymi got to go golfing with Wayne and help drive the cart. Wayne said every time he would take a practice swing she would shake her head and with a disappointed look on her face say, "oh daddy". She didn't realize he wasn't trying to hit the ball.
I love when these two get along and are sweet with each other.
Wayne took the girls to their favorite park one day when I needed some time to get work done without my little office assistants.
Just about every morning when I go to get Bryn out of her room she has on her "Rapunzel Hair" Its pretty cute, I used to love pretending my towel was long hair.
More boating on Grandpa Bonners boat
The girls got to help Daddy open his birthday presents. A couple new shirts and a spiffy new basketball.
We did a few rounds of swimming lessons this summer. Bryn was the only girl in a class full of boys, but I don't think she really even noticed. They are all little fish and love being in the water.
This was Jaymi's second year of doing the adaptive swim program and it is just as awesome and I remember it. She gets one on one lessons with a teacher that specializes in teaching children with disabilities. She did great and had so much fun!
Jaymi and one of her cute swim teachers.
On 7-11 we headed out on a family bike ride to the sev to get our free slurpees.
It was a little overcast that day so while Wayne and I were working in the yard these two silly girls got all bundled up to join us. Don't think 70 degrees warrants all that gear, but whatever. We got a laugh out of it. You can take the girl out of Russia but you can't take the Russia out of the girl.
Another tradition is watching the Rasmussen kids ride sheep in the Draper Rodeo. This year Jackson was too old so Natalie filled his shoes. Our girls were excited to do the cash cow. They run around in the arena trying to snack baggies of money off a little calf. It was all fun and games until Bryn got trampled by the little calf. She was not happy about it.
Kaelyn has started giving big hugs to all the little cousins and friends. Its pretty cute to see her interacting and being more social with kids these days.
Enjoying a warm day at the United Angels Foundation swim party with our cute friends Mia and Taylor and their families.
Our neighborhood plays a movie on the lawn every month throughout the summer. The girls love going and getting to stay up late.
The girls couldn't get enough of our cute little friend baby Blake and church one Sunday.
For the Bonner Family Reunion this year we went to Yellowstone National Park. I had never been so it was fun to see everything and man was it beautiful. The girls loved spending time with family. The cabin we stayed in was awesome and was right on a lake. Sadly Kaelyn got sick and her oxygen regulator broke so we had to head home with her a day soon, but Jaymi got to stay with her cousins and had a great time without us that last day.
Poor Kaelyn was just exahausted after the long car drive home and fell asleep in my lap minutes after we started snuggling. That almost never happens anymore as she is such a busy little girl. Yes, she always sleeps in some bendy, pretzel sort of position.
After swimming lessons ended Jaymi and Bryn started a ballet summer session. Its Bryn's first dance class and she is in heaven. They have so much fun and can't wait to start ballet together in the Fall.
We have been watching a lot of American Ninja Warrior around here so we had a mini training camp for the girls one night. They are tough little things.
Jaymi still loving gymnastics. She requests I take a picture of her on the balance beam every week. The little girls helping them are elite gymnasts and they are good, some of the best in the state. What a great program.
We spend one afternoon at the new big aquarium with our friends. The girls loved the fishies, penguins and turtles the most.
Kaelyn loved licking the glass.
We love our cute neighbors and their little twin brothers, Milo and Griffin.
